Leylines

The emergence of the underground leylines started the era of magic. Individuals who live close to a leyline start to develop the ability to cast spells, and as a result of this, places where individual leylines were located were soon controlled by the Federation of Tyrael. During the year 482, the federation discovered that these leylines were underground and dug tunnels toward them. Individuals that came in close proximity of a Leyline gained the ability to channel their magical powers through special tattoos, resulting in many individuals taking a pilgrimage visiting all the leylines.   Leylines themselves look like craters in the ground with light coming out of them. This light is pure raw magic that disintegrates any material that comes in close contact with it. Some of this magic is also collected at leylines in a bowl suspended near the leyline, where magic particles coagulate and drip into this bowl into a liquid form, often called Shunene. It typically takes decades for this Shunene to form. As of yet, little practical application has been discovered for Shunene.   Leylines have been found in the following locations, starting with the weakest Leyline.
