Federation of Tyrael
The Federation of Tyrael was established to deal with the unrest during the beginning of the Era of Magic in the year 286. Even now, it is still one of the most influential organizations throughout Ashalar, where they keep watch on the Leylines. The federation is ruled by the Council of Tyrael, which is situated in Edogow.
The citizens under the leadership of the federation approach religion with a rather pragmatic mindset. They worship six different gods, where the different gods are on a opposing end of a spectrum. And individuals worship each respective god whenever they feel like they need assistance with that part of their life. For instance, there is the god of life Lathander, and the god of death Kelemvor. There is also the god of (physical) protection and order Helm, versus the god of arcane magic and its boundless development Azuth. Finally, there is the god of analytical and methodical work Gond, and the god of creativity and art Oghma.
Structure
The Federation consists of six factions, related to each worshipped god, that each has its own role (see table below). The ruling council of Tyrael consists of the 6 heads of each faction. And every five years, the citizens living under the ruling of the federation (i.e., Tyraelians) may vote on the faction that they deem most important, as well as the person who will represent their faction in the council. The role of the council is then to pass new laws and regulations to further improve the quality of life for the Tyraelians.
Even though each faction aims to improve life within the Federation, many have opposing ideas of how this can be best achieved. This results in some rivalrie between factions, most often between those on the opposing end of their spectrum (e.g., Helm vs Azuth).
