Helena Porter

Grand Admiral Helena Porter

If you're on ever on the open sea and you find yourself boarded, you would typically be right to put up a fight. But if you spot a woman in a red jacket with a mechanical eye, do not let her pleasant features fool you. You are going to lose one way or another. Best to surrender lest you lose your life in addition to your belongings.   Helena Porter started life in a small village just north of Southhost. She spent much of her childhood watching the troupe of performers that frequently stopped by. Her favorite performer was a Tabaxi gladiator. She gave him a bracelet she made as a gift.   One day, Helena's village was attacked by monsters from the Shadowfell. During the attack she was severely injured. However, she was found by a cleric and taken to an orphanage at Oceanhaven. She eventually, left of her own accord and became a theif. One day, she attempted to steal from a pirate known as the Sea Dog. The Sea Dog took Helena under his wing and taught her the ways of professional piracy. Helena and Sea Dog were eventually convinced by Dautlin Wolfswift to join the rebellion.    Since Helena was quite young her and the Sea Dog agreed that they would need someone to pose as the leader of the Oceanhaven cell. It was around this time that Helena met Arthur Kennewitz, an Aarakocra with the appearance of a scarlet macaw. He offered to fill the role.    At one time, Helena's cell acquired plans for an airship. This technology would help the rebellion gain a much needed advantage. Unfortunately, on his way to deliver the plans, Sea Dog was captured and the plans were stolen. Both acts were perpetrated by Bieven Moreon, Admiral of the King's navy. Shortly after, Helena met the team composed of Sparky, Adran, Caelon, and Casseus (Heskan and Ikkyas were there as well, but they adjourned from the group before anything important took place). She enlisted them to help her rescue Sea Dog and recover the stolen plans.    The team succeeded in recovering the plans but Sea Dog was killed. Upon returning to base, Arthur had disappeared. After much pursuit, it was discovered that Arthur was actually Aera Klulef, master of air and prince of Avismoore. Aera had infiltrated Helena's organization and was feeding information to Bieven. This was a devastating blow to Helena, but she didn't have much time to react because she was made governor of Oceanhaven. Helena quickly found herself overwhelmed (which is understandable for a girl of only 16) and she abandoned her post.    The team found her in a town just outside Southhost in a community jail, quite drunk. She stole Sparky's bracelet and realized who he was.    During the events of the Shadowfell Incursion, Helena assisted Caelon Alterra in defending southwestern Aryllia from Gargoyles. She acquired her airship, The Morning's Edge during these battles.    Helena was gravely injured at the Battle of Norwich where she lost her eye. Team Deicide was able to save her thanks to mechanical parts scavenged from the remains of Virgil Hawthorne. She now has an arcano-mechanical eye that allows here to see a couple moments into the future.    Since the Mad King's War, Helena was adopted by Grand Twinkle who revealed himself as Sparky. She was also made the Grand Admiral of the King's Navy.
