Hraldans (Human)

"
From the earliest days that the Old Empire made it's way up the great river and into the valley, it came into contact with the folk that made their home there. Hearty, tall, hale and fair of skin, the Hraldan were united by their vast Temple-Cairn culture and a fearlessness of death. They believed, for right or wrong, that any of their number that died in battle would live forever in the necropolises, the great cities of the dead they had prepared for them. They gained great power from this worship, and their Priestly Rulers, Nercromancer Kings, could wield great armies of the undead. The struggle to liberate the people from these Necromancers was the product of many centuries of labour and fierce military campaigns, and when at last the final of their kings was killed and sealed away the waning years of Imperial splendour had begun. The collapse of the Empire left the Hraldan vulnerable to many great migrations of tribes folk from the mountains. Today, what Hraldan Manfolk have become is something of a mix of all these distinct identities, Cairnfolk, Imperial Colonists, Tribals and Traders and Refugees from the Southern Lands. Bound together more than anything else by a shared sense of home and identity as humans.   The Hraldans as a folk measure much taller than most men, hearty and hale, fair of skin and strong.
