The Sanctuary of Knowledge

What is the library?

Located in the tropical lands of VASPR, the Sanctuary of Knowledge is home to almost every piece of information in the galaxy. The records, books, and history is updated and maintained by the library staff, which consists of many different races, AI models, and automated robots, who all want to keep the library safe and accurate. The sanctuary is made up of different types of records, such as conventional books, electronic storage, metal discs encoded with data, and computer hard drives packed with information. All the data and records are backed up, stored safely and are always copied, in case of damages, or attacks from enemies.

Purpose of the Sanctuary

The purpose of The Sanctuary of Knowledge, is to create a safe, learning haven for anyone to explore. It is important as it offers future generations to learn about the past, and to have a record of events. For example, if someone wanted to know about a certain planet, region, empire, ship or anything else, they could travel to the sanctuary, and find exactly the information they need.

Who uses the Sanctuary?

Anyone from anywhere can use the sanctuary, humans, insectoids, workers, magicians, absolutely anyone. However, The Curators realized many people don't have access to the sanctuary, as they are either very poor, aren't as advanced, or don't own a ship, and so The Curators created a weekly bus system to fair people from all over the galaxy to the sanctuary. The ship is an A-1 ship (more information about ships: Ship classes) meaning it can jump over the galaxy, reducing distances traveled and time taken. Once the ship collects many people, it drops them off in the orbiting space station, ready to take shuttles down to the planets surface.

Who built the sanctuary of knowledge?

The original creators of the sanctuary, remain unknown, as they neither made records, nor shared it with anyone before their deaths. It is speculated that the builders wanted to remain hidden and create a sense of mystery, they just forgot to make a record of themselves, or for some other reason. However, we do know that the builders were extremely powerful, bending the laws of space and time, to create such a master piece of a structure.

Sanctuary Magic

The Sanctuary of Knowledge is woven into the very fabric of space, time and magic, bending the laws of all three, in order to exist. One of it's major defenses is partial invisibility. This means that seen from far away, the Sanctuary just doesn't exist, and only comes into being when the person gets closer, and passes the magic barrier.

Hierarchy of the Sanctuary

The Sanctuary of Knowledge's highest protectors are The Curators who guard, manage, and order the Sanctuary.

Beneath them are their workers, who make up the sanctuary staff. These people do no fighting, and are solely there to help the Curators with managing the sanctuary. The staff consists of devoted members from all races who wish to work at the center of knowledge including AI models, robots, and non humanoid creatures.
