Aureathar
In ancient times, Aureathar was a magnet for travelers across Aquatica's Southern Sea and beyond, earning the title Caput Mundi--"The Capital of the World." As the heart of the Atlantean Empire on Aquatica. It drew senators, merchants, pilgrims, and adventurers eager to witness its grandeur.

Their government is similar to a combination of an Oligarchy and an Authoritarian State when the Atlanteans were still in power.

Districts
The city is split into various districts.
- Aureon's Crest, the sacred heart of the city. It hosts the Palace of Light and the Shrine of the First Flame. Only the elite and chosen dwell here.
- Starspire Rise, the spiritual and defensive core, is crowned by the Temple of Solara. The Council of Elders meets here in the Hall of Radiance.
- Riverwind Slope, a vibrant district by the Golden River, is bustling with traders and artisans. Home to the Bazaar of Tides, it is favored by the common folk for its lively festivals honoring the river spirits.
- Moonshade Vale, a sprawling district of homes, gardens, and ancient groves dedicated to the moon deity. It has a mix of modest dwellings and mystic shrines, with the Grove of Whispers used for rituals and burials, steeped in eerie beauty.
- Dawnspire Hill is a district for the warrior clans and soldiers. There are barracks, arenas, training grounds, and the Tower of Dawn, a beacon for the city's defenders.
- Sunglow Ridge, a quiet district with scattered homes and small temples, is known for the Gardens of Serenity, where mystics meditate.
- Viester Knoll, used for watchtowers and modest homes, the Starlit Watch offers views across the city, and is said to be guarded by celestial spirits.
- Emberfal Quarter, a lively, crowded valley between Moonshade and Viestar, teeming with markets, taverns, and workshops. Known as the Heart of the Ember, it's where artisans craft glowing relics and merchants sell wares under lantern-lit streets, though shadowed corners hide rogues.
- Forum of Eternal Flame, is a civic and spiritual center, nestled between Aureon's Crest and Starspire Rise. It's home to the Great Flame, a perpetual fire symbolizing Aureathar's unity, and the Plaza of Voices, where the Assembly of the Flame gathers for festivals and debates.
A Traveler's Tale: Journey to Aureathar
The dust of the Golden Way still clings to my sandals as I write in a bustling taberna near the Grand Forum. Aureathar is a tempest of marble and ambition, a city that pulses as the heart of the world. After weeks of travel from my home in Verdania, I arrived to find the Great Arena towering like a stone titan, its roars of warrior duels echoing through the streets. I stood in the Forum, where robed elders debated beneath statues of gods and kings, feeling history's weight in every cobblestone.
