Nikto Blouin

The changeling freedom-fighter Nikto Blouin is a survivor of the Federation's program of carceral human experimentation who, as part of the Consequences, helped bring to light the nation's history of human rights abuses. Nikto is also known to be a skilled machinist who possesses a high-level understanding of the technology associated with the God Machine. While Nikto was influential in the effort by the Consequences to restructure and reform the Federal government, as of 718, the extent of their ongoing involvement and their whereabouts more broadly are presently unknown.

Biography

Of all members and affiliates of the Consequences, Nikto is likely the one about whom least is known. Documents released to the public during the restructuring of the Federal government provide the most concrete information about them: that they are a survivor of the Federation's program of human experimentation. In late 713, Nikto was convicted of false impersonation by a rural district court in Auria, sentenced to laboratory service, and imprisoned in the South Auria Strategic Morphology Research Laboratory, a facility that would later be revealed to be a site of illicit experimentation on changelings like Nikto. During the term of their imprisonment, the Severing occurred, cutting off the rural laboratory's contact with the rest of the Federal Department of Research; approximately a year later, Nikto was liberated from the facility, along with a small number of remaining survivors, by future fellow Consequences members Daigonis Ūdris and Seven.   As part of the Consequences, Nikto became a trusted companion and pilot of the sentient tank 001 Skybreaker. It was through this relationship that Nikto acquired their knowledge of the mechanisms associated with God Machine-derived technology, knowledge which they used to produce the human-shaped automaton body that can be inhabited at will by the machine spirit of 001 Skybreaker in situations in which the physical form of the tank is unideal. Nikto's critical innovation, proof of the transferability of machine spirits between bodies, remains highly significant to many scholars and mechanics seeking understanding of the God Machine and its descendent technology, and it has been applied elsewhere to enable machine spirits to inhabit functional bodies while their original bodies undergo repairs. Alongside the rest of the Consequences, Nikto also helped uncover & release documents on the Federation's history of illicit human experimentation, with which they had personal experience.

Personal Life

While it is assumed that, like other members of the Consequences, Nikto has played a role in the restructuring and reform of the Federal government, their exact role is unknown; as of 718, they have retreated out of the public eye. Their whereabouts are broadly unknown, with some suggesting they have stepped back to focus on reuniting with their spouse, Guerlain Blouin, and their step-son, Aimé.
