Ofelim

Ofelim, along with Paich and Myala, is one of the three Gnomish Automaths. Stepping forth from the Wondrous Mansion on the First Day, Ofelim, with his companions, was responsible for the Awakening of the Gnomish people.   A stout gnome with skin the color of pale granite and hair of onyx with flecks of gold, Ofelim was filled less with whimsy and more with a mind toward practicality than either of his peers. While Paich wandered the forests of The Cradle taking inspiration from the plants and animals of Yorth, Ofelim called to him the storms of Yorth and, taking his pick-axe, Sierseeker, entered a cave in the rocks. Some time later, Paich and Myala heard the sounds of battle from within the cave, and Ofelim, emerging unscathed with his pick bloodied, carried out the ore he used to forge the bodies of the first Gnomes. After forging them with a delicacy and precision unmatched by any other, Paich then wove into them the vital nature of Yorth, and then Myala used her magick and devices to bring them to life.    Ofelim, according to the versions of the Gnomish origin story told in both The Pious Union of the Awakened and Erewhon, played no part in the imparting of knowledge of the (disputed) Gnomish origin in the Feywild as creations of The Archfey. Because of this, Ofelim avoided classification as a Dissident, and is still worshiped among Gnomes in The Union as well as non-Gnomes who invoke his name in the creation of fine things, and along with Pali, those who venture beneath Yorth's surface in order to seek treasure or fight the horrible things that lurk there.   The Deep Gnomes are often said to be modeled in Ofelim's image. Priests and clerics of Ofelim practice the domains of the Forge, War, the Tempest, and Twilight.
