Rise of the Ape

Cultural event

1652A.o.t.S.S.

The Human Species is admitted to among the Sophic Species and serves as the fulcrum that changes the tides of war during the Scale War.

When all hope of the Sophic Species was little more than embers dying in the cold, the impossible happened. In the midst of a battle between Dracose and the Sophic Species, as the Dwarves, Elves, and Ceangar were on the brink of defeat, a pack of hairless apes known as Humans joined the battle. In a battle between twenty Dwarves, Elves, and Ceangar against thirty Dracose, the intersession of fifty large apes with stone weapons and the experience to handle native monsters, the battle turned from an almost total loss to complete victory.
When the apes expressed complex language in addition to simple tactical understanding, the survivors of the attack conversed with the Humans and offered food and education in exchange for joining their numbers. The first Humans joined in Sophic Species within the region that is now Netarrum. The Wood Elves and Wild Elves claimed the Humans as adopted kin. The area where the Humans were encountered, known as the Lost Crable, was the birthplace of the Elves and was considered to be the area where Humans were raised from animals to people. The word of the potential of Humans was spread far and fast by Mages who saw the apes as the fulcrum that could turn the war.
After a few short years, whole clans of Humans were recruited into the Sophic Species and trained for a wide range of roles. It became quickly apparent that while Humans lived shorter lives than other species, they reproduced at several times the rate that they died and learned at a much faster rate than any other species among the Sophic Species. The Humans became recruited at as quick a rate as the other Species could manage and trained in short order. While the Humans were often mistreated by the other species, they quickly earned their keep as a people when they became the force that changed the flow of the Scale War. Humans became the first evolved species to join the Sophic Species.
