Thorkild Lutgerd

Thorkild is a middle aged dwarf. He wears his hair braided, as is currently fashionable. A short trimmed beard frames his mouth and he wears spectacles on his large nose. He has a scar on his left cheek which looks like it was made by fire.

Not much is known about Thorkild. He showed up as a young dwarf and asked to join the Runesmiths. He displayed significant talent with metalworking and climbed through their ranks swiftly, becoming a Smith of Yargruck at a young age. However, his apparent excellence didn't continue past this point and he soon started using his newfound freedom and authority to travel far from Oxpond. He was almost never present in the Runesmith Compound and made the guild the bare minimum amount of money every year. His friends were few and far between and he was regarded as somewhat of an oddball by his peers.
When the Runesmiths received a contract from house Reinhild to help find the second part of the stone tablet which should contain the location of the Hammer of Thromneal the guild's leaders decided the contract wasn't worth their time or effort, as it would bring very little to their coffers. However, someone had to be put to the task to appease the Reinhilds. They announced that the Smiths of Yargruck would draw lots and the loser would have to search for the tablet. Surprisingly enough, Thorkild volunteered for the task and began working on it in earnest.
A couple of days before the deadline given by the Reinhilds, Thorkild was approached by an odd group of individuals, introducing themselves as archeologists and wanting to assist him with his task. Although not initially trusting, he decided to use them and start working with them. Unbeknownst to him, he was followed by this same group and they discovered his secret. Thorkild was a member of the Sect of Task and was double-crossing his employers, secretly looking for the tablet to appease the higher-ups in the Sect. He is now being investigated for heresy by the Paladins of Kuyutha, although he is not aware of this yet.

Thorkild speaks common perfectly without an accent. He is very polite and well mannered and prefers listening to speaking. He often twirls his moustache while giving instructions or orders.
