It was lunchtime on a warm early spring day at the Bridgefort. The inn was filled with farmers and craftsmen taking their midday break and a scattering of travelers eating and drinking. At one table, a group of gnomish merchants was discussing wheat prices, a halfling in a colourful patchwork coat was fleecing the locals at dice at another, a mother was feeding her child porridge at a third and an elegant-looking elf was quietly strumming his lyre in the corner of the room. In the middle of the room, at a long table, two strange figures, both of them carrying instruments and small weapons, sat engaged in deep conversation -  (jasa), an androgynous half-elven, and Fiat Simply Clever, his young-looking halfling attendant. The nobleman and his vehicle-obsessed servant were arguing about something or other when a horned creature dressed in browns and greens entered the inn and approached the table. She introduced herself as Zimpa. The tiefling druid had a strange accent and a mysterious manner about her, but the duo couldn't give her too much attention as they were quickly interrupted by a mentally deranged elderly lady with anger issues - Gerthrude, recently returned from the Feywild. Next, a hooded figure entered the room and sat itself next to the elegant elf. Finally, another hooded figure, which seemed to be floating, approached the loud group. This was Aoife, the fairy girl with a faint glow and oddly shaped pupils.
The group talked for a little and then promptly began making trouble in the inn. Zimpa helped the woman with her child by yelling at her husband and telling him to help and her point was swiftly emphasized by Gerthrude splitting his tankard in half with her axe. Fiat began harassing the dice player and convinced him to be her friend, while Aoife finally revealed her beautiful visage, to the amazement of everyone in the room, especially Zimpa, (jasa) and the Gnomish Merchants. The inn swiftly emptied as the group became more and more belligerent until the innkeeper finally snapped and ordered them all out. (jasa) refused, trying to convince the man to let them stay, but he wouldn't budge and attempted to strike (jasa) with his pan, which Aoife magically stopped. At this point they realized they were not welcome at the inn anymore and left, deciding to visit the castle and speak to Lady Esther Elmwood, the owner of the surrounding lands. The hooded figure who had been sitting next to the elegant elf and watching them cause havoc introduced himself as Gharstye nDawynnel, an outlander with reptilian features, and offered to join them on the way to the castle. After entering it, Fiat decided to become friends with a group of stable workers fixing the wheel on a cart, while the rest of the party spoke to Lady Esther.
Lady Esther introduced herself and her predicament. Her grandson, Matthias, had been missing for a few months and she hadn't been able to get him back. She offered them the pick of her treasury if they aided her in finding him. She couldn't spare any of her own men as her second son, Sir Miggset, had been gathering men at a small castle to the north and she was afraid he would try to take her castle with her grandson, the legitimate heir, missing. She told them to go meet her sister, Mary, who lives a hermit's life in the forest half a day's ride away from the Bridgefort. They were given mounts and a cart to carry their supplies and embarked on their journey.
Mary was an eccentric woman, but she greeted them with hospitality, serving them stew and gossip of her late-night walks in the forest. She had seen fey folk and worried Matthias had been captured by them, so she gave them a switch of rowan wood, which scares fairies. The party made its way to the place where she had seen the fey and found the entrance of a cave hidden behind some shrubbery. As they approached the cave, the shrubs and a nearby tree came to life, attacking them. After defeating the plants they ventured into the cave, finding a green portal. Aoife and Zimpa immediately jumped in, followed by (Jasa). The rest of the party stayed behind.
The place behind the portal was a beautifully vivid warm forest valley filled with steaming hot pools of water and gorgeous fey engaged in a wild orgy. They noticed the only human being, presumably Esther's grandson, engaged in vigorous sexual intercourse with a male dryad in one of the hot pools. Zimpa, Aoife, and (jasa) seeing this, obviously, decided to undress and do the hanky-panky themselves. After they had satisfied their primal urges, they spoke to the grandson and his lover, discovering a controlling relationship. Matthias was easily convinced to go home but the dryad wasn't about to let him go like that. They finally managed to convince him to come along with Matthias, so they could live at the castle together and all of them exited the portal realizing only a few minutes had passed in the real world, as opposed to more than an hour inside. The portal was a fragment of the Feywild, disconnected, but still possessing the same strange temporal qualities.
At this point Zimpa finally recognised the dryad man. He was the one who seduced the caretaker at her old orphanage and convinced her to run away with him, leaving the poor orphans, her included, to fend for themselves. In her anger, she said nothing, only pulled out her dagger and stabbed him right in the neck. Gerthrude managed to save his life with a timely spell and then fell into a deep rage herself. Zimpa summoned her companions, rats from the city where she grew up, and went on the offensive, attempting to finish what she started and get her revenge. Gerthrude was having none of it and decapitated her in one swift motion, the rats scattering upon the death of their master.
The remaining party, somewhat demoralized, made its way to Lady Esther and arrived in the early morning. They were greeted warmly by her and given the promised rewards alongside the option of further employment.
