Kord God of the Sky (cord)
Sir Kord, He Who Dreams, Carrier of Clouds, the Sea Scourge, is the God of Sky. Symbolized by a pocket-sized stone that matches the color of the sky. He represents the sky, wind, clouds, and dreams
Overview
His alignment is Chaotic Neutral. He does not concern himself with mortal affairs and typically just goes where he wants and does what he chooses. Despite that, he is often depicted in drawing or carving with a wide and bright smile. Seen by the other divine as aloof and irresponsible but nonetheless powerful as his clash with Vavarohk brought the war god to a standstill with the speed of a tornado and the force of a typhoon. His followers see him as ever sleeping and that existence is merely his dream, anytime someone sees him is merely a projection within his own subconscious. When you are awoken with a sudden surge of inspiration it is a common saying that you had a visit from Kord that night.
He typically has no qualms of his own, so he has no need for his followers. The only special interactions he has at all is with Sehanine, Goddess of the Sea
Followers
His followers consist of the dreamers of the world, those that wish for the impossible and attempt to make it reality. They wish to join his kingdom in the clouds and fly effortlessly across the land. many of the more creative types such as artists, painters, writers, performers, and song writers. The more devoted of his followers will adopt an odd breathing technique where the individual will take a large inhale and hold their breath for an extended length before they exhale. They will also often bleach their hair white as a stylistic choice
Omen
When the Cloud Surfer awakens and is absent from the skies, his absence will be noted in an odd way. The skies while normally dotted with clouds of different shades, shapes, and sizes, will be absent of such details. Only those that look up to the sky for inspiration might notice such a phenomenon. They may still differ in size or shade depending on the regions weather but they will all be miraculously the same shape which signals the God's absence. This only lasts for a short period of time but what follows remains until the God returns and is known as "The Vacant"
The Vacant can be best described as an empty sleep. During a period of rest and sleep, the time you close your eyes and drift off to the time you are awoken either by naturally or by something will feel instantaneous. Your body will still have experienced the full hours of sleep but it will feel like a slightly longer blink. A vacancy of proper rest, dreams, and drive begins to snowball across the lands. Depending on how long this absence is, effects like cooks not caring if their food is bland, architects will make boring buildings, artists will nearly disappear, weapons smiths' quality will degrade etc.
Return
When Kord returns to his realm of the sky, he does so in an extravagant way that only he could come up with. On a seemingly normal day, you might experience imagery where you normally would not. A cloud above, a pile of leaves on the ground, or a stream of water flowing down a building may take on the form of something else. They will take on fantastical well-defined shapes unlike the vague forms we are accustomed to such as animals, humorous faces, or other simple shapes
His followers take this sign as his return and begin to plan an extravagant day of celebration. They will organize with their communities to create a parade of kites, a festival of balloons, local parks will be transformed into an outdoor gallery of artistic expression where everyone is welcome to perform or display their works of creativity
