Human
The most populous and widespread race of sapients on the continent, humans are well known for their adaptability and industrious nature.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Humans are bipedal, standing on average between 5 and 6 feet at the shoulder.
Genetics and Reproduction
Sexual reproduction results in a 9-month pregnancy and most commonly yields a single child, but reports of up to four babies are not unheard of. Humans are also known to be one of the most prolific cross-breeders among the sapients, rivaled only by the Orcs. Humans, particularly in the case of human women, are capable of carrying other sapient species cross-breeds to term. The most prevalent of these "half-humans" are the half-orcs and half-elves who live most comfortably in the [Pax Nevarrum
Growth Rate & Stages
Human children are capable of walking, talking, and eating solid food before fives summers. However, they are still dependent on parental care until their mid-teens, after which they are capable of surviving independently. This is also around the same time they become sexually mature.
Ecology and Habitats
Humans are capable and adaptable, allowing them to survive in nearly every environment. While their populations are densest in the northern half of the continent, humans who have been recorded in The Great Grass Sea are known to live healthier, longer, and more satisfying lives.
Dietary Needs and Habits
One of the more agriculturally dependent sapients, humans build vast farms for growing grains, vegetables, and raising domesticated livestock. While other races may require less to eat each day or may enjoy a more singular diet, humans seem to have iron stomachs. From grubs to grasses, to delicate sweet cakes, humans will eat nearly anything.
