County of Angeus
Structure
The County of Angeus serves as the seat of the Duchy of Anjev, with contemporary Ducs of Anjev holding the title of Comte of Angeus. Several small baronies and lordships control smaller areas within it, but the Ducs control most larger decisions. Of all of the Duchy, it is here that Ducal power holds the most sway.

Angeus is the most politically and militarily powerful region of Anjev and its principle region, second only in monetary wealth to Threetower. Angeus commands a well-trained army of knights, mercenaries and automata, as well as the Impregnable "Black Vault" of Kastell Angers, a powerful collection of Magikal artifacts, guarded by the Black Order and the The Silverblade Company.
Numerous castles, vineyards and towns dot the river valley.

Angeus borders (Clockwise from West) the Counties of Naoned of Letha, its vassals, the Counties of Cenomannie and Touraine, the Barony of Loudun and the Viscounty of Thouars and the Lordship of Montaigu in Akitania.
The Liger river flows through the County.
Military
The County of Angers is the most powerful in Anjev, commanding thousands of alchemical automata, powerful Windships and well-compensated mages. Its vassals, hardened by centuries of fighting against larger neighbors and raids by the Fae and Vikings, are among the most well trained forces in the Western Realms, with the funding to equip their knights with the best and latest equiptment and arms. In addition to the knights, Angers has a large host of Foot-Soldiers drawn from the lower and middle classes, as well as the funds to employ mercenary companies from the Marches of Vasconia or the Golden Sea.
Religion
The Southern Church dominates Angers, nearly uncontested in its hold.

Anjev strikes a delicate balancing act, tempering its foreign ambitions with the need to address internal pressures from its powerful vassals, Touraine and Cenomannie.

Legislative Body
There are 3 bodies of Law within Angeus. Royal law, from Galiia, Sovereign Law, from the Dukes and lesser nobility of Anjev, and Ecclesiastic Law from the Southern Church. In many ways, Anjev is the standard example of the laws of the Western Realms, with little noteworthy deviations.
