Razlom's Gate
Overview:
Razlom's Gate is a remote and foreboding pass located between the vast mountain range that surrounds Sevgorod and the Oblidan Wilds to the East. Although not very far from the capital as the crow flies, it is one of the more remote regions in the Kingdom. This narrow, natural corridor between towering cliffs has long been shrouded in mystery and fear, serving as both a gateway to the unknown and a boundary between worlds. The area is known for its harsh, unforgiving terrain, where ancient stone monoliths stand as silent sentinels along the road, their origins lost to time.
Geography and Significance:
Razlom's Gate is flanked by jagged cliffs and weathered stone monoliths that seem to mark the boundary between two realms. These ancient structures are etched with symbols that have long since lost their meaning, though they are believed to be connected to the lost religion of the Oblidan people. The path through the gate is treacherous, with steep, narrow trails that make travel perilous, especially in the harsh winter months when snow and ice cover the ground.
Legends and Lore:
The area around Razlom's Gate is steeped in dark legends. Local folklore speaks of ancient aberrations and giants that once roamed the mountains near the gate, most notably a creature known as "Blind Gorgrun" or "the Cannibal," a giant who was said to haunt the surrounding wilderness.
