Oblidan

Overview: The Oblidan people are the original inhabitants of the region now known as the Oblidan Wilds, stretching from the north to the south of Sevgorod in Chernaya. Once a proud and nomadic tribe, the Oblidan have seen their numbers dwindle and their lands encroached upon by other powers. They are known for their deep connection to the harsh, unforgiving landscape and their ancestral knowledge of survival in these extreme conditions.   History: The Oblidan were once a powerful and respected tribe, living in the vast plains and forests that now form the Oblidan Wilds. They were formidable warriors and skilled hunters, able to thrive in a land that others found inhospitable. However, their fortunes changed when the Duvik people launched a devastating attack on their lands, decimating the Oblidan tribe. Among the survivors was a young boy who would later become known as Aryn Chernaya, the founder of the kingdom that bears his name.   Current Status: Today, the Oblidan people are a shadow of their former selves. While some nomadic groups still roam the Oblidan Wilds, much of the region is now uninhabited, with only scattered tribes maintaining the old ways. These remaining Oblidan are fiercely independent, mistrustful of outsiders, and deeply connected to the land. They survive through hunting, gathering, and a deep knowledge of the natural world, including the spiritual and mystical elements that pervade their homeland.   Significance: The Oblidan are not just a people but a symbol of resistance against the encroachment of more powerful forces. Their history is intertwined with the foundation of Chernaya, and their story is one of survival against overwhelming odds. Despite their reduced numbers, the Oblidan remain a vital part of the cultural and historical fabric of the region, and their knowledge of the wilds is unparalleled.
