Typhonic Plains
The Typhonic Plains are located smack in the middle of the Cirkea-Tamora-Domeria megacontinent. They are named for the lava dragon Typhon, who presides over the land in an imposing castle to the west. Only a hair's length away from the Razorfrost Mountain Range, the Typhonic Plains make up the largest volcanic plain in all of Altairus.
Geography
The Typhonic Plains consist of a vast, rocky plain with mineral-rich hills and free-flowing lava rivers. To the west is Typhon's Castle, surrounded by a moat of lava.
Climate
The Typhonic Plains are known for being extremely hot and arid. Despite soot constantly blocking out the sun, the lava rivers all around provide ample lighting and heat for those traversing the land.
Fauna & Flora
The plants and animals that live in the Typhonic Plains are extremely hardy and do well in places with little water. Plants such as Fire Nettle and certain kinds of cacti dot the landscape, while lizards and insects make up the primary fauna aside from lava dragons.
There are two bigger species of fauna that make their home in the Typhonic Plains. The first are Gehenna Swine, wild boars with no fur covered in spiky horns. They are bigger and more aggressive than most wild boar species on Earth, and they can eat just about anything. They are bred by orcs, hardy Dark elementals who have adapted to the conditions of the Typhonic Plains, for food.
Kobolds, Earth elementals who live underground, live in certain parts of the Typhonic Plains, where they mine for minerals.
Natural Resources
Like Dragonfire Island, the Typhonic Plains is rich in different minerals, including blackmetal and crystals imbued with Fire, Earth, and Dark magic. The various kobold tribes around the plains work on excavating these resources for trade.
