Lethar
Lethar is a wendigo general whose domain rests in apathy and sadness. Leading the Lethargians, it is one of Malefic's many rivals to the throne of The Flipside.
Divine Domains
As mentioned above, Lethar is associated with indifference and despair, instilling these feelings in its victims to defeat them from the inside. Its name is a play on "Lethargy."
Physical Description
Identifying Characteristics
Lethar has a very specific form outside a host. Normally, it takes the form of a small black box. If you were to look at it closely, you would realize that it does not reflect light at all, giving the ruse away. However, it does not look so odd from a distance, so it is very easy to miss Lethar hiding in plain sight.
As Lethar gains power, the box gets bigger, and the aura of sloth around it grows. When it is ready to strike, it pops out of its cubic shell in a form that resembles a jack-in-the-box, two jester-like horns drooping down from its head. Unlike other Lethargians, these do not droop in front of its face.
Special abilities
Lethar, like the lesser Lethargians below it, does not have to possess someone to fill them with indifference. It constantly emits an aura that saps anyone within a certain radius of joy and motivation. As this happens, it also drains the Anima around it, making itself stronger.
It also has a much easier time resisting wendigo wards than other generals, since its power is mainly passive.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Like Malefic, Lethar's goal is to succeed in draining all of Altairus's Anima and take rulership over The Flipside. It is willing to trample even its fellow wendigo generals to achieve this goal.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Lethar is a particularly difficult wendigo general to deal with, simply because it is so subversive and hard to detect. Even if its presence is known, it can stop its pursuers from caring enough to do something about it.
However, Lethar does have a few known weaknesses. While it can slip past most wendigo wards, it is particularly vulnerable to those powered mainly by collective feelings of joy and connection. This means that wards like The Winter Solstice Spirit and The Heartwood are particularly repulsive to it, especially at full power.
Additionally, it is not as formidable in combat as some of the other wendigo generals. While its boxy shell is impervious to penetration, it cannot attack without exposing its soft inner body. Even out of the box, its movements are glacial. A determined opponent can easily defeat Lethar by out-dodging its slow attacks as long as they do not fall to its aura. Lethar has a better chance if it ambushes its attacker by popping out of its box, but even that is not a foolproof strategy.
