Malefic

When Nemesis failed to stop Jack Thunder and his friends from restoring the Heart of Altairus, the former wendigo general was replaced and thrown out of The Flipside at the hands of Malefic, an ambitious rival who will do anything to finish what its predecessor failed to accomplish.

Divine Domains

Of all the wendigo generals, Malefic is best associated with the traits of malevolence and power-hunger. Spoiler for Jack Thunder and the Dawn of Unity

It is these traits it exploits in Ivy Butternut to forcibly take over her body in the third act of Jack Thunder and the Dawn of Unity.

Physical Description

Identifying Characteristics

Malefic usually takes on a draconic or semi-draconic form. No matter what form it is in, its huge, imposing stag antlers give it away.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Malefic is focused on two things: succeeding where Nemesis failed and making the former wendigo general pay the price for betraying The Heart of Darkness. Spoiler for Jack Thunder and the Dawn of Unity

In the final chapter of Jack Thunder and the Dawn of Unity, it foolishly evacuates its host's body to engage in aerial combat with a newly-reformed Nemesis, who proves invulnerable to Malefic's blows and ultimately defeats it with an Anima sword to the heart.

Even after it is defeated, it keeps trying to destroy Altairus, targeting Jack Thunder and his friends in particular. Fortunately, it is also stuck competing with and scheming against the other wendigo generals, who are just as intent on ascending The Heart of Darkness's former throne as it is.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

As cunning as it is, Malefic consistently fails to consider that not everyone is as cruel or wicked as wendigoes tend to be. Spoiler for Jack Thunder and the Dawn of Unity

This is its fatal flaw in Jack Thunder and the Dawn of Unity. It and its cronies exiled Nemesis to Altairus, falsely believing that Jack Thunder and his friends would show no mercy towards Nemesis for all the trouble it put them through. Instead, Jack Thunder sheltered the former wendigo general (albeit not before binding it so that it couldn't cause any harm), leading to a sequence of events that led to Nemesis's transformation and redemption. Nemesis even points this out:
"Let's face it. You were never too good at predicting how Altairians would act."
