Daedalus (Day-dah-lus)
Daedalus Crete
A bygone artificer, known throughout central Arcadia for leaving countless artifacts.
He was responsible for creating and maintaining the Artificer's Forest outside Crete, which originally was in a dry rain shadow. Using a combination of magic and technology, Daedalus created an expansive irrigation system underneath the area, drawing from a local river.
Later in his life, he became very sick. During this stage of his life, he became obsessed with creating a means of prolonged life, or even immortality. His experiments led to the Roboticization Diamond, a gem that would turn any who touch it into a copper robot version of themself, as well as the Prometheus model mech, a powered-up roboticized form. His first two attempts at creating Prometheus on willing lab partners led to them becoming incredibly strong, but losing all their memories.
As his days he knew he had left dwindled, Daedalus began copying his memories into gems and hid them in several caches across Arcadia. He then had a tomb for himself excavated out of a mountain at the edge of the Artificer's Forest. Within this tomb, he tried for a final time to create Prometheus, roboticizing himself and placing himself into a 200-year long hibernation.
