Teresa's Journal

Teresa Rosa uses this journal to express her emotions. She lives alone in the Noble District. When she is lonely, she writes in her journal about fictional worlds, different from the one she lives in. Many of her journal entries include details about worlds in which relationships are allowed and family units are common. Teresa is obsessed with the idea that those who are related live together. Since she is expecting a baby within the next nine months, She writes about what she thinks he/she would look like and how he/she would interact with her if they got the chance to be together. She predicts that the baby would have similar facial features to her own. She questions why Grenagem doesn't allow women the freedom to take care of the babies they birth. As an employee at the Imperial Noble Nursery, Teresa may have a rare opportunity to see the baby she carries if it is a girl. One of the more recent entries in this journal is about a plan that details how to see the baby and predicts what wing the baby would be placed in if it enters the imperial Noble Nursery.

Significance

This Journal is significant because the content that is written in it is strictly forbidden by the government. If found, Teresa could get into serious trouble or more people would get the same defiant thoughts. These ideas based upon freedom and emotion could potentially start a rebellion against the government.
