Jaka Omaru
Jaka is a 19 year old Grenagan of Tantani descent. He has a light frame at 61kg, though his lean, sinewy muscles are developed from manual labor.
Jaka now lives in Sludgeside, where polluted runoff of the Airshipping Center forms small rivers of sludge. One such stream runs in front of the building where Jaka lives with four other Tantani men. Every day, he follows the river to its source, crossing into the Airshipping Center to report to his work. Jaka is a cleaner, he works at Aliados Strip either cleaning the docks or scrubbing the exhaust valves of airships, lifts, and other machines.

Personal history
Jaka was born to the Empire, from Tantani parents he has never met. He was brought up on the very eastern side of the Academy of Labor, where he could catch glimpses of Noble Grenagem. The view of the high life from his shabby room, behind bars and barbed wire led Jaka to resent the Empire. He once spoke out, when he was twelve years old, trying to tell his peers that the Empire didn't care about them. He was taken by his instructors to a discipline room and severely beaten. A blow damaged his right eye and the brown iris collapsed. Jaka's right eye is fully black and very sensitive to light.

Jaka has a logical, practical mindset. His experience of growing up as a poor, Tantani male watching the rich, lavish lifestyle of Grenagan women in Noble Grenagem has given him no illusions about the way the world works. He knows he will never be more than a cleaner, and is apathetic to his work. He harbors a deep resentment towards the upper class, but knows to hide it.
