Porto Amaro
Porto Amaro is a scholarly society. Most of its inhabitants live separate from each other in their towers. This domination by mages is also noted in Amaro’s one small town. Here hopeful students study at the many libraries supported by Ardus or another society of mages and it is rare to see a pedestrian without a collection of books or scrolls. The two taverns could not be more different. The red mage is a very quiet scholarly establishment frequented by students wanting some rest from their studies and the odd mage. In contrast the few sailors willing to stay on the island, as many consider it bad luck to remain, frequent The Broken Mast. It is a rough and tumble tavern, often the sight of a barroom fight.
