The Augury's Appraisal
Located in the Markets of Marvels district in the great city of Dianmallo, the Augury's Appraisal is one of the largest magic shops in the world. Run by Master Veylin Hallowquartz, an old deep gnome wizard with a magical glass eye, this is the location by which most people who desire to know the value - or identity - of their magical item appraised can leave satisfied and sure. It also sells magical goods to those who have the money to buy - alternative means of payment can be negotiated!
However, the exterior is an elegant mix of deep purple wood and gold filigree, and above the door is a large black and exuding sign with the title, "Augury's Appraisal" depicting a deep and knowing eye that appears to track and keep focus on various people as they walk by.
Shop info
The Augur specializes in cursed items, enchanted curios, and unique arcane experiments. While many magic shops sell standard wands and scrolls, Veylin’s store is known for housing items with "histories"—objects with strange quirks, minor curses, or unpredictable enchantments. Those with an adventurous spirit (or a reckless streak) seek him out for rare finds.
Interior
Inside, the shop is far more vast than the outside. It appears to be a two-floor emporium with magical items on the first floor acting as a showcase of sorts - items in cases or on racks, potions in stasis in a central pillar, etc. The second floor is accessed by a spiral staircase that doesn't touch the floor and ends at a height that suggests you would not be able to access it easily. There is a sign that reads, "More powerful and rare items above. Access Restricted without permission."
