Ubara's Arm (oo BAR ah)

the Dividing Sea

Ubara's Arm, called Urara's Arm by the Slava people, sometimes known the Ubara Sea, and often shorted to simply, 'the Arm', is an inlet sea that channels north from the greater Aabanu Sea until it butts up against the Plashin Range. The sea, along with the Plashins, divide Novyum into the western regions of the Heartlands, and the eastern known as Slavyum.

On average, Ubara's Arm is roughly 20 miles wide and runs over 150 miles north to south. Its depths, especially in the southern region can reach up to 2000 feet deep. Protected from the northern winds and storms by the Plashins the sea is relatively calm year-round leading it to be an ideal highway for travel between the two regions of the Northern Reach of Ethae.

Ubara is one of the business waterways on the continent. Its short distance between the Heartlands and Slavyum, the calm waters and its north central location make it the ideal trade highway between the two regions of Novyum. The Lechish people that control the sea, pride themselves on the freedom of trade conducted through their nation of Lechlan. Their navy protect the Arm with a fervor and are known to be sometimes overaggressive in their dealings with unknown vassals.
