Rypo Seal

Pinniped of the Mountains

Rypo Seals are a small species of seal that in unique to the region of the Rypo Archipelago. These creatures only reach an average of two feet in length and have a distinctive white and blue patching coat of fur. Though they have many predators in the form of Human, Orc, and other predators of the region, they show little to no fear. They reproduce quickly, and in spite of being surrounded by predators their population stands in the millions throughout Rypo Bay in the modern day.

These seals have long been used by the Yulfing people as a primary food source. Their blubber is also useful to supplement the whalers' supplies. The Yulfing see the seals as sacred and vital for their own survival. As such they aggressively hunt any hunters of the seals that are not them. The only expectation to this is the Plashin Wolf, which the Yulfing, like their Plasha kin, see as mystical creatures of the mountains to be honored and protected. The wolves can hunt the seals as equals to the Yulfing.
