Draconic Sorcery

Channeler of the Dragon

Most know the ability to manipulate the Anon (Magic) comes from the Daanan within a being. It was the Elf and Fairy that first harness this power within. It is the elven blood in mixes heritage families that gave Human descendants this ability. This blood is how Wizard and Sorcerer gain the ability to us magic. There is another source of this power, however. That is the blood of theDragon. Dragons are magical creatures in their own right. Daanan magic is generated within them, on a scale equal to the Elder Tree of old.

It was the so-called Dragon-god of Ancient Siduum that discovered a ritual to infuse their blood with human worshippers, creating draconic sorcery. These sorcerers were the priests of the dragon-gods. The ritual to create draconic sorcerers is long lost to history. Many expeditions have scoured Craddle Valley, looking for some tablet or wall carving explaining the ritual, with no success. It matters little, however. The original worshippers of dragons had the blood infused in them, and they passed it on to their descendants, as the elves passed theirs. It is these that can become draconic sorcerers.

Draconic bloodlines are often mistaken, sometimes intentionally, for elven bloodlines. Most process and progress their magic as wizards or divine sorcerers, never realizing their untapped potential. Those that do understand their nature often seek out cults, covens, or a master draconic sorcerer to learn from. This is because no wizarding collages accept known draconic bloodlines into their school. This is largely due to ancient bias and fear of dragons and their worshippers.

As the history of these sorcerers implies, most originate in the Craddle Valley region. Draconic bloodlines are as common for the Ismon as elven lines are for the Normon. These bloodlines are often kept this hidden due to aforementioned ancestral bias.

Their origins in Ancient Siduum means that nearly every draconic sorcerer gained their blood origins from Red Dragon. However, organizations such as the Kash Shaptu in Tinjir, show that at least some Green Dragon learned the secret of the ritual as well. It is unknown if the metallic true dragons ever used these rituals. They have, however, taken in other draconic sorcerers as pupils to teach the Way of Anon.
