Divine Sorcery

Channeler of Divinity

A divine sorcery, sometimes called soul sorcery, is the second most common form of sorcery in the modern day. It is second only to Draconic Sorcery. These sorcerers learn to channel their internal Magic towards the healing arts.

This life-giving power has been heavily associated with Alu, the creator god and the Trijan faith. the Church has gone so far as claiming it is only through faith in God alone that this power can grow. Its doctrinal view is that sorcery was created to channel divine energy only. Opposition to this believe points the many healing sorcerers have come from pagan faiths throughout history. That said, most that take this path in the modern day are Trijan and seek recruitment into the Church in one form or another, often finding their way through the ranks quickly.

In nations where the Trijan faith dominates the culture, those with casting abilities, that do not join a college to be educated as a wizard, are expected to join and server the Church as a divine sorcerer. It should be noted that this is an expectation, and not a requirement. The Church does not actively seek divine soul sorcerers for recruitment, but many who discover their magical prowess will join the religion. Some join out of a religious fervor. Other join to gain a free education in magic that is cheaper than wizarding colleges. The only cost for this education is years of service to the religion. Though, one can argue that those willing to go this path do not see this as a cost, but a duty.

The Church has many hospitals and holy orders that a divine soul sorcerer can join to hone their skills in the healing arts. The Mericine Order is the most famous of these.
