Owlin
Owlin are a smaller off shoot of Birdkin, they mostly live around the Neuvoterre area but some live with the other Birdfolk still.
The Owlin are natural scholars and mystics, their society valuing wisdom and knowledge above all. Many Owlin are drawn to classes like the Wizard, Cleric, or Druid, though their keen senses and silent flight also make them excellent Rangers or Rogues.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Owlin have arms and legs like other Humanoids, as well as wings that extend from their back and shoulders.
Like owls, owlin are graced with feathers that make no sound when they move or fly.
There are four main types of owlin, mid height and white like a snowy owl or beige like a barn owl. Large and grey like a great grey owl. or small and brown like a pygmy. However many different variations between this can happen but tend to be these four main ones.
Dietary Needs and Habits
While they tend to be knownm for living a vegan lifestyle living with the elven races, those outside the structure of Neuvoterre can be known to enjoy grubs, insects and small vermin. However these are usually treats and not really hunted for on a regular basis.
Behaviour
Many owlin are nocturnal or atleast prone to rise later, embodying the common nickname of night owl.
They tend to be naïve and young looking most of their lives. However they store knowledge and have quick reflexes much like the owls they derive from.
They tend to keep to themselves and similar fey creatures due to the need to stay in fairly wooded spaces. However due to their need for knowledge some do trvel further afeild to research an learn.
Owlin do not have much culture themselves and tend to adapt to the trends and ideals of those who they live around.
Diet wise they do tend to have a very simple grain based diet, enjoy fruits and nuts for treats and for the ones who live outside of the city especially they do enjoy smalle grubs and insects.

Geographic Origin and Distribution
Mostly live within Neuvoterre or the farms and villages around the city. There are some snowy owlin that live at the airbase and some grey owlin that live and work with the dwarves.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
It is very common for Owlin to take their first names from famous wizards, schollars or even gods. However as for second name they do not use standard family names but instead use the type of tree they were born in eg. Of the Fir, Of the Oak or Of the Birch.
Beauty Ideals
Like nmany other birdfolk Owlin do have very specific grooming stanards and spend a lot of spare time preening themselves. However this is less about beauty and more about keeping their feathers good for flying purposes. This is a standard drilled into them when they are young as mothers will spend a lot of time absentmindedly grooming them.
Common Etiquette Rules
As with all bird folk, dont touch the feathers espoecially wings unless invited to and dont ask about bathroom activities.

Great - Deep brown feathers with spiked points on the head and the tallest of all owlin at 5' but a slimmer build.
Grey - Charcoal feathers with a white belly, just short of 5' and a broader frame.
Barn - Tan feathers and a white belly and face. About 3' 5" and the most athletic build of all.
Tawny - Spotted brown feathers with the smallest build and about 3'.
