Before Arrival

    Era beginning/end

    The oldest recorded histories of Adarus fall within the Age of Dreams, when the world was young and under the care of the chimeras. It begins approximately 5,000 years Before Arrival and lasts about 3,500 years.

    The Void Years
    Era beginning/end

    The years immediately following The Fall and the total collapse of the great chimeric city-states. Technology, magic, and a vast wealth of knowledge was lost during this time and human resentment toward the chimeras became like wildfire. This period is estimated to have only lasted around 50 years.

    Nasir Dominion
    Founding

    The Nasir Dominion was the first human power to rise from the ashes of a world war that resulted in the total collapse of the chimera city-states. Blaming the chimeras for the chaos that followed as a result of the war and the "Void Years", where all hope was thought to be lost, humans claimed to be the dominant race. Nasir started as an autocracy that trusted a single human king with ultimate decision-making power. Chimeras were made to serve humans as a form of punishment for nearly destroying the world.

    The Library of Sena

    King Amadeian believes that an educated populace is the fastest way to strengthen a nation and orders the construction of the Library of Sena, which served as a public university and symbol of early enlightenment.

    Astral Church Schism Begins
    Religious event

    The Astral Church struggles to deal with the threat of new, literate faithful that challenge the idea of a Creator. A schism forms that pits new-age rhetoric against the traditional belief in an all-powerful being.

    The Auroran Reformation
    Political event

    The Auroran Reformation marks a turning point in the history of the Nasir Dominion, as well as the fate of Creator Astralism and the chimeras. The crisis began as religious tensions between the traditional Creator Astralians and the heretical Auroran sect boiled over into violent riots across the Dominion’s major cities.

    Arcana is Founded
    Founding

    In the far west of the Abian mainland, the exiled Creator Astralians established the Holy State of Arcana, a sanctuary where they could freely practice their faith without persecution.

    Birth of an Empire
    Founding

    Antony Viscus unites the varied kingdoms of Abia to form the Arcanaan Empire and takes the name Anselm.

    The War of Retribution
    Military action

    Hearing of the newly-organized Arcanaan Empire and their bold declaration of war, Nasir's King Eumenides rallied his own forces to meet Anselm's armies in several bloody battles on the eastern shore of the Riah Channel, which separates the Abian mainland and the Nasirian subcontinental island.

    The Siege of Rytaia

    After a series of defeats, Nasirian forces were pushed back to their capital, Rytaia. Eumenides was assassinated in his sleep merely nights before the unified Arcanaan army began their siege of the city. When all hope for the Nasirians seemed lost, reinforcements from the northeast swept through the Arcanaanite flanks, decimating and disorganizing their units.

    The Crimson Wave

    After a year of attrition-based fighting, the Arcanaanite invaders were finally forced back across the Riah Channel to the mainland. Before pursuing them, however, King Hecates, the son of late King Eumenides, dramatically revised the structure of the Nasirian armies.

    The Red-Violet War

    Nasir and Arcanaan remained locked in constant warfare with each other for hundreds of years. The drawn-out hostilities eventually end in a stalemate.

    Heaven's Fall
    Disaster / Destruction

    A meteor strikes the far northeastern region of Abia, beyond the border of the Arcanaan Empire. Sage, a remote and diplomatically isolated nation, is decimated and a large crater is left behind as a perpetual scar. The Sagens that inhabited the land are forced to migrate south into Arcanaan, seeking refuge. They are met with nationalist hostility, mostly due to their ability to use divine magic.

    Massacre at Telo Trada

    The Nasir Dominion attempts to invade Arcanaan with a large force of 15,000. Though their goal was to seize the Tavarin provincial seat of government, Telo Trada, they are ultimately decimated by an unexpected ally of the empire: the nephilim from Sage.

    Gabriel’s Revolt: The Moon Lord’s Defiance

    Gabriel Vesuvius, Count of Vesuvia, was not a man born to obey. He was a visionary, a radical, and ultimately, a martyr. His rebellion against the Empire of Arcanaan was swift and brutal, a storm that promised change but was drowned in blood before it could take root.

    The First Bridge

    A rogue outfit of nephilim that had been exiled from Sagus attempt to overthrow the Council of Elders. Memphis, an executor of an order of Sagen knights, quells the rebellion using his divine magic but incidentally creates a singularity in the process when his power clashes with the leader of the exiles.

    Arrival
    Era beginning/end

    Scientists and explorers from Tellus (otherwise known as Earth) establish a bridge through time and space, connecting their world with Adarus by way of the Polyphemus Gate. They make landfall in Tavarin, midway between the provincial capital, Telo Trada, and the border between the Arcanaan Empire and Nasir Dominion. So ends the first epoch, Before Arrival, and begins the second, After Arrival.

All records of events following the arrival of explorers from Tellus (Earth) through the Polyphemus Gate. In the Tellan timeline, this occurs in 2055 CE.

    The Chimera Rebellion
    Revolution

    One year following the arrival of the Tellans, political dissenter Gaelan Petra, son of Raelis Petra, Duke of Crestos, defects from the empire with his slave, Mika, and gathers runaway chimera slaves and human sympathizers under a unified banner of rebellion.
