A rogue outfit of nephilim that had been exiled from Sagus attempt to overthrow the Council of Elders. Memphis, an executor of an order of Sagen knights, quells the rebellion using his divine magic but incidentally creates a singularity in the process when his power clashes with the leader of the exiles.

A young Alexis Starlight, one of Memphis's pupils, is pulled in by the mass-gravitational force of the singularity, throwing her into a bridge through space-time. She ends up on Tellus (Earth), 1934 C.E., 121 years (Sol) before Dr. Isaac Evenway launches Odysseus-1.   Alexis is discovered by Isaac's ancestor, Dr. Thomas Evenway, who examines the strange girl and her unique abilities to create and destroy matter and energy, officially coining the term resonance factor to name the inexplicable phenomenon that she claims is divine magic.
