Founding

The Confederate Church (or as it was known then: the Church of Cjekogos) has been around far longer than the Confederacy itself. It was founded a long time after the death of Cjekogos, the prophet, but follows in his teachings. Its first leader was actually the great-nephew of Cjekogos.

The church is not the founder of the religion, which has been around far longer than the church itself. It is said its roots lie in the age of Mourning. The church does, however, manage the religion, appoint religious leaders, and the like. It was created by the great-nephew of Cjekogos himself, and follows his interpretation of its teaching and gods. It has many gods, all originally worshipped by each person depending on how they affect that person's life; however, due to the interference of the Confederacy, the church has created a regimented caste system for its gods, in which the major gods were all worshiped in some capacity and most of the lesser gods were forgotten or worshipped in small numbers.
