Military: War
Still reeling from decades of internecine wars with the Kirshani, the hordes of the united tribes poured through the southern and northern gaps, devastating villages and cities alike. Ultimately Old Rudora would be the last City standing in the kingdom, and last to fall.
While Benalon's brother was given the responsibility of dealing with rebel lords in Rudorei who could not accept their new station, Benalon himself traveled westwards to make terms with the Confederacy of The Frensari.
Having spent much of the last year consolidating his forces and negotiating terms with the newly conquerored Rudoran vassals, a now Veteran army, equipped with Rudoran steel and the Battlemages of the Frensari. The long-since enfeebled Kirshani Empire would face their greatest and final war.
While held at the gates of the Orimid Empire, the wide open plains of Hunolduran were the last displays of the conqueror's military might as massed horse formations poured from across the lands.
The Illalorei War of Rudoran Subjugation was a brutal, multi-season conflict between the invading Aelven hosts of Illalorei and the human Kingdom of Rudora. Initiated by the failed northern Siege of Arluck, the war escalated as Rudora, desperate and fractured, raised levies and hired mercenary companies to resist the coordinated Aelven advance. While Lord Dovere Ulanala ultimately captured Arluck through a cunning bluff and violent reprisal, his brother Benalon suffered a major defeat near Eladstown before rejoining forces for a final push. Despite attempts at outside aid, Rudora was overwhelmed by the combined might of Aelven magic, military precision, and internal sabotage. The capital, Old Rudora, fell after a relentless four-day battle, prompting the king’s surrender and the royal fleet’s retreat. Rudora was carved into two domains—Benalon ruling the north directly and Conteign’s lord given control of the south—cementing Aelven dominance and reshaping the regional balance of power.
During the early years of the 5th century, the Coast of Glass was volatile place, piracy ran rampant through the Sea of Spiced Winds as various Dwarven Sealords harassed any merchant vessels trying to sail westwards and taxes imposed upon Frensari goods by the Kingdom of Rudora made eastward trade unviable. At the same time, new Khanates stirred in the Great Dorei, past the western mountains. The Confederacy was being juiced from all sides, and it was only then, that in 516, that Gromzug erupted and devestating what little harvest the coast could produce. It was in these bleak years, that Benalon Ulanala approached the council.
With his brother bringing stability in Rudorei, Benalon, at the head of his great host approached the city of Frensara. With him, his host included several supply trains of food, taken from Rudoran farms. An offering was made to the council, to join or be left to die a slow ignoble death. "My armies surround the city, the seas rebuke you, and the Great Dorei threatens to consume you. There is a greatness that awaits you if you but accept." The council asked to treat with Benalon in his camp, and after several hours of private discussion, they exited as new subjects of what Benalon proclaimed as The Empire of Great Benalor
