Cold Wolf Sect
Also known as Hanlangong or Cold Wolf Palace. A powerful sect holding authority as clergy that was wiped out during the Ascension by Garalese troops led by Ruya Ilkin. The Cold Wolf Sect was one of the most powerful sects during Emperor Longwei's time and was located near the old capital, Yinguonan. Notable members include the Zhang Family, the Meng family, and Wei Lian.
The sect was restored after the War of Eternal Day by Zhang Huai Shi, his parents, and their supporters. Considerable effort was spent clearing out the old land of ghosts and demons, as the Zhangs were regarded as a threat by the new emperor, Su Chao, and he prevaricated over granting them land. Du Qian Men and Du Rui Sheng tracked down the papers for the old land and gave them to the Zhangs so that they could start rebuilding efforts without waiting for Su Chao.

Because the Wandering Forest Sect values scholarship in its own right, but does not hold its members responsible for their use of knowledge, it neither condemns He Shirong's removal of Zhang Xiong's golden core nor considers itself an enemy to the Cold Wolf Sect for the vengeance enacted on Shirong by Zhang Huai Shi. These are personal matters.
Tensions between these two sects reached an unprecedented high when Zhang Xiong discovered an ancient cache of artifacts in the Fenglili Mountains near the Silk Mountain Sect. The Silk Mountain Sect maintained that the cache was part of its cultural heritage and should not have been plundered by the Cold Wolf Sect. No reparations were made.
