Nine Lilies

The Nine Lilies were a group of shrine maidens who served the Flintlock Twin Deities, Maudra and Mihras. They were notorious for their increasingly extremist views, in particular that the Flintlock deities could speak through anything with a Silica or Quartz-timed heart and that all quartz-made beings also have souls.

A brief description:

Their public agenda (purpose, mission, aims)

  • The nine lilies managed some the earliest incarnations of the Clockmaker religion, then known as the Druwits "knowers of the wood", and eventually became the precursor for the Gannwyll Gwydd
  • The fate of all of the members is unknown, some have never been heard from again, others have risen
  • The attempted massacre is what brought Sheena into the light as a martyr and prophet, and fueled the movement

Describe their visuals (flag, motto, uniform)

  • A lily-of-the-valley flower with nine blossoms with a small wheel in the centre
  • They dressed as priestesses of Maud and Mihr, wearing mostly white and pale clothing that reflects the sunlight
  • Posthumously they are assigned different elements and planets
  • Much of what is remembered and depicted of the Nine Lilies is folk memory

Their secret agenda (if they have one)

  • Their leader and visionary was Sheena, and they were known posthumously as the Nine Lilies as it was found that Sheena had given each of them seeds to ingest if they were cornered. After the coordinated massacre, only some managed to survive as Alrauna.
  • The Lilies are all alive or at least, exist, in one way or another, some as Wrakka who Sheena is attempting to make into Saints, but due to their arcane nature they are often deemed heretical
