Talyn Fenbrook

Talyn was born the first child of High Lord Kaeydon and High Lady Orianna Fenbrook, and is the nephew of Lady Claira Fenbrook-Eversharp. His younger brother, Adran, was born when he was two years old.

His mother was murdered when he was six years old during an ambush orchestrated by a criminal organisation operating through a Noble Family in Duuintriya. Talyn witnessed the entire thing and remembers every moment of it due to his Hyperthymesia.

Talyn's father died in a shipwreck under suspicious circumstances when Talyn was in his early twenties. Talyn immediately took control of the House and, shortly after, married the love of his live, Maleena Icebloom, the daughter of a notable Hedge Witch. The marriage caused a stir among Noble circles, as many had sought to marry their daughters to the young High Lord in a bid to take control of the considerable Fenbrook wealth, but Talyn remained stalwart and rebuffed any and all advances toward him.

Between 1468 and 1478, Talyn secretly spearheaded a large portion of the Fuldair Rebellion efforts by mobilising loyalist Nobles to act in the best interests of the city, as well as supporting and helping to raise Aelyx Everbright by sending him resources and people. The Fenbrooks actively resisted the Silver Hand, denying them entry to their estate and being openly critical of the occupation, but the Silver Hand were in no position to retaliate, knowing that any open act of aggression against the High Lord would likely see the mobilisation of the full force of all six House Branches worldwide. Instead, the Silver Hand attempted to carefully wear down the High Lord by making it difficult for him and his family to move through the city, though this did little to impact Talyn, his family, or his employees, who were easily self-sufficient within Ironsea Estate. He is known to have dispatched a large contingent of the House Guard, as well as the Nightblades and Couriers, to fight during the night of the Rebellion itself, with even Captain-Commander Fenbrook-Eversharp making an appearance on the battlefield, predominantly as a show of force. After the Rebellion, Talyn downplayed his role, stating that he was simply observing his Noble Obligation. However, Aelyx Everbright credits Talyn alongside Bevyn Kayne as the main reasons for his survival and success.

Talyn is married to Maleena, and by her has three sons; Alesstus, Taldaelyn, and Celdiir. His younger brother, Adran, is married to Vadania, and has twin sons, making Talyn uncle to Keyon and Nisian. His aunt Claira (who was his Father's half-sister from Talyn's Grandmother) is married to a Dwarven armourer from the House Guard, named Ulfgar Eversharp. Claira and Ulfgar have two children, Dain (a son) and Finella (a daughter), who are therefore Talyn's cousins.

The High Lord is charismatic and charming, while also projecting an aloof, frightening presence that can put most individuals in their place with a single glance. He is considered to be calm, collected and to-the-point, with impeccable manners and a near-godly grasp of both political and social etiquette.
