A’arde is a world like many others in the infinite unknowns of the overlapping cosmos, but it is also different; a place where some rules are rewritten, and others are broken completely. It is a world where Material and Magic meet; a place of great diversity and wonder, but also great peril and strife. There is much adventure to be had within this world; opportunities for exploration and discovery, heroism and battle, or even debauchery and mischief.

What is A'arde?
A'arde is a high fantasy setting interspersed with adventure, horror, supernatural and mystery elements. It provides a backdrop for the novels, novellas and backstories written by Aelyrya Payne, and also serves as the setting for all of her D&D-adjacent games.
What Can I Expect From A'arde?
A'arde is a world made up of five continents and multiple overlapping cosmological Planes. Its people are diverse, its cultures varied, and its conflicts can reach epic levels of scale. In A'arde, magic is commonplace knowledge, though not necessarily available to everyone, and the Gods are free to walk among Mortals as and when they see fit, though they rarely reveal themselves. Devils and Demons seek to claim Mortal Souls for themselves, while the Fey are rarely seen anymore after a catastrophic attack left them reeling. Elementals occasionally cause chaos within the Realms, while magical beasts and spirits wander the lands freely, leaving both wonder and mayhem in their wake.
Is There Anything Else I Should Know?
Much of the activity within the works of Aelyrya Payne takes place within the Country of Curtana on the Continent of Eirinn. For this reason, you may find that the knowledge of this place is significantly more extensive than other places in the world.

Did you know...?
A'arden Elves gain shimmering colours across the highlight areas of their bodies when they Come of Age. It's a holdover from when they were Fey Spirits, who would mature into their powers and take on physical traits associated with those abilities.
