Thoran Grimwood

Thoran is a burly man with a weathered face, greying hair, and piercing blue eyes. His hands are calloused from years of hard work, and he carries himself with a stoic, guarded demeanour. He often wears simple, dark clothing and an apron stained from countless spills and mishaps. Thoran is known for his gruff exterior and wary nature, especially towards strangers and elves. He rarely smiles, and his trust is hard to earn. Despite his rough demeanour, he is deeply loyal to those few he considers friends. His inn is his sanctuary, and he takes great pride in maintaining it.   Thoran was once a respected blacksmith in a bustling town far from where his inn now stands. His life took a drastic turn when his wife, Elara, was killed during a raid by a group of elven bandits. Consumed by grief and anger, Thoran abandoned his trade and set off to find a place where he could start anew, away from the painful memories.   Years later, Thoran stumbled upon a dilapidated inn in a small, secluded village. He saw potential in the run-down building and decided to purchase it, investing his remaining savings into its renovation. The townsfolk were initially suspicious of the stranger, but over time, Thoran proved himself to be a reliable and hardworking member of the community.
What the villagers do not know is that Thoran didn't acquire The Shadowed Oak Inn through entirely honest means. He discovered that the previous owner, an elven woman named @ly, was a powerful sorceress who had used the inn as a front for her arcane experiments. Thoran confronted Lyria, and in the ensuing struggle, she was mortally wounded. With her dying breath, Lyria cast a binding spell on the inn, linking her soul to its very foundations. Thoran was left with a choice: leave and never speak of the incident, or take on the burden of the inn and the restless spirit within it. He chose the latter, seeing the inn as a chance to rebuild his life, albeit with a constant reminder of the events that transpired.
Thoran due to his past losing his wife to elven raiders during his migration to a portal and then coming across Lyria who turned out to be "the definition of evil" in his mind who was also an Elf. Thoran has a distinct dislike of Elves
