So I have finally decided to trail this other party that appeared in this world. Some of which, the shirtless ones in particular, do not do a particularly good job of hiding the brands on their arms that match my own. By following them, perhaps I will gain some insight, but more importantly, I can check to see if they have something of my own that can shine light of how I ended up in this world, or at the very least, something more about Isbahlok and Starmound, the town I've called home the past two years.
My attempts to deceive them into believing the dragon of the island, a White one, was somewhere nearby worked to an extent. My mimicry almost deceived them enough for me to search their things for clues for the artifact I am looking for, but the elf discovered me. I tried to disengage and flee, but the stupid lizard knocked me out with a fireball! Their cleric had enough of a mind to bring me back, and perhaps I was petty for doing so, but I retaliated and shot the lizard down with my crossbow. She's not dead, which is probably for the best, but perhaps she will learn that assaulting an innocent kenku fleeing for his life is ill-advised. Anyways, the gods apparently have a sense of humour because after I reluctantly decided to join the party out of the ruins, she nearly got her face gnawed off by a blind fuzz rat. I found a great amount of mirth from this turn of events.
Turns out, this group is staying at the same inn as I did in Starmound, which isn't saying much because it's the only inn, but I digress. I ended up rooming with them and some of them seem to be trying to bond with me. It's not entirely unpleasant, I'll admit. The elf in particular has tried to make an effort to learn my name. I decided to play a prank on the kolbold with the rat's skull, made some rations from its corpse and gave the pelt to my good friend Diamia. She's mute, like me, so we have an understanding of each other and communicate with notepads. It's actually fairly touching; not many go out of their way to accomodate a kenku. I'll keep giving her some things on my journeys that might be useful for her.
Oh! The town had a rock tossing contest, what passes for entertainment in this town. I won an amulet of teleportation by my superior rogue techniques! I have earned the shiny and I am so very pleased with myself.
Today wasn't so bad afterall.
