Ah, finally a good night's rest. I don't remember any dreams. It's glorious. They may come back, but for now I'm gonna bask in it.
We took a large expedition back to Gilnaith to scout out some of the sites and challenge Kyas Malisius, an aspect of the Umbral Herald. The circle in is guarded. The guards ask for citizenship passes. If we're gonna keep going in there, it may not be a terrible idea to figure out how to get some of these, otherwise, I get the feeling that the security on the circle is just gonna keep getting stronger.
After that, we went back to the armory, one of the first places we went in Gilnaith. The place was filled with constructs shooting odd weapons. And each time we fight them, they're updating something that they're calling the "Evolution Protocol." Between that and the fact that they can call for support from a distance, I think they must have some sort of psychic or magic communication abilities. At some point we should also try to find a way to block that. Inside there was some sort of...device that looked like it was meant for a door. When I tried to open it up and futz with it, all the doors closed, and all the air was sucked out of the building. A bit of a scary moment. We'll need to try and figure out the "password" for it before we go in next time.
After that we went to deal with Kyas. We had to walk through all of our nightmares to get to her, and then when we reached her, in plane of white nothingness. There, Kyas, who appeared as a vaguely draconic figure composed of void, talked to us. She told us of our quarry. That the succubus would remain unseen, split us apart, and seek to turn us upon each other. And then she did all of that herself. Well, at least the first two things. Kaecil seemed to take it upon himself to do the last part, fireballing one of our new residents, summoning demons to attack the rest of us. It turned out, he hadn't even fallen prey to any sort of compulsion, just thought that he was supposed to show he was the strongest. He was taken down, but not without difficulty, and after we felled him, the demon he summoned pounced on him and killed him. We did manage to finish it off fortunately.
Meanwhile, I guess, Arias was doing the right thing, trying to find the demon through its invisibility, and once we determined that it wasn't present, Kyas again presented herself. She offered us some boons of herself, and information. Still warning us that we weren't ready for the inmate herself. We also learned that the shadow giant is an aspect of Tharizdun, as she is an aspect of the Umbral Herald. We also talked with Bard for a bit.
After that, we went and saw the spear throwers, which were neat and looked to be styled after a hand, but nothing was really happening there, and then we went home.
