It hadn't seemed dark in the casino, but the blinding light of the day upon the sea made me suddenly aware of my body's complete lack of acclimation to the day. There hadn't been windows inside. Ronnie was asleep in my lap, clearly it hadn't been any better for them on the ship, so bad that Viktor abandoned Ronnie the moment he was free. Back inside the Casino, crowds of people were recuperating from the battle. Some of them had been in the casino for longer than they'd lived outside of it. I watched from the White Hawk as a constant stream of prisoners ran out of the door; they trampled each other in a desperate instinct to leave, even thought they'd be stuck on the docks until one of the recent arrivals let them onto a ship.

In an instinctual split second, I eldritch blasted him and pushed him off the edge and into the water. I yelled across the the crowd that the white hawk was not for the taking, but we would be recruiting sailors.
