The company began its journey. Those of Royal blood were sequestered in their own carriage while Xena's servant was guarding the supplies in the second carriage. Natural phenomena served as an obstacle on the first stretch of the journey, but with knowledge pulled from various members of our entourage, we were able to circumvent the worst of its effects.
 
The initiates from the Onyx Circle continue to showcase animosity that's rationality perplexes me. They are angered when I ask them reasonable inquiries into the level of their skills, yet when I choose to assume their competence to inform me without my inquiry as to whether the supplies were damaged, Initiate Dameon developed an attitude. It's most probable that nothing I do now or in the future would earn this group's respect. I do not know why Kirkland is insisting I waste my time. Best to simply focus on my own goals and leave them to their own devices. They appear competent enough for that, at least.
 
We are taking a slight detour to visit Crater-Eaves. Xarter is interested in the town due to the Unmoving Star. I admit to also be curious about it, though I doubt we will find enough time to complete any significant study.
 
We had a rather peculiar encounter on the road to Crater-Eaves. We've met a large, arachnid-like creature that puppeted life-like models of monks. Xena appeared to strike a deal with it, though what exactly it plans to get out of this deal I am wary of.
