Karfec of Redrock: Bahamut’s Barbarian
Race: Goliath
Class: Barbarian
Background: Outlander
Deity: Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon
Raised by Stone and Storm
Born high in the craggy heights of the Giantshield Mountains, Karfec came from a scattered tribe of Goliaths that dwelled among the peaks like walking monoliths. Their society revolved around strength, survival, and tradition—but Karfec’s heart throbbed to a different rhythm. While other young Goliaths trained in contests of power, Karfec lingered near ancient ruins, drawn to murals and relics depicting metallic dragons and scales of balance.
One fateful evening during a mountain tempest, Karfec stumbled upon a forgotten shrine carved into the cliffside—its offerings weathered, but the image of Bahamut pristine. As lightning cracked the sky, Karfec pledged his soul to the dragon god of justice, not for glory, but for purpose.
Exile and Awakening
His tribe saw this divine fascination as weakness. Mercy had no place in Goliath law. When Karfec defended a captured rival warrior, he was cast out. With nothing but his greataxe and a fragment from Bahamut’s altar, he wandered south, leaving the Giantshield behind—but not the lessons it taught him.
Champion of the Platinum Creed
In the lands of Elsir Vale, Karfec walks as a holy storm—his rage channeled through discipline, his might serving the innocent. Though his strength is raw and untamed, it’s leashed to a higher calling. He fights not for dominance, but for protection, hoping one day Bahamut will truly speak to him through dream or flame. He settled in Red Rock and became a notoriety amongst the locals for his helping nature.
