Origins in Fire and Fury
Born during the Eruption of Emberglen, a rare volcanic surge east of Dennovar, Randalf was found swaddled in soot and warmth—his cries said to calm the flame storms around him.
As a child, he showed affinity not just for flame spells, but for understanding fire’s moods—he treated it as a living spirit, not a tool. Elders feared him; druids respected him.
Arcane Rebel of the Tower
Randalf’s teachings diverged from orthodox magic. He rejected control-based fire spells, instead pioneering free-form flamecasting—conjuring fire that grew, learned, and reacted.
Cast out of the Tower of the Four Winds for igniting its scriptorium during a “living flame” demonstration, he vanished for years into the Cindergloom Mountains, honing his art.
Firemage Ally of the Farstriders
Though Randalf’s path burned brightest through the arcane, his fate entwined with the legendary Farstriders, an elite adventuring company known across Elsir Vale for their daring and unmatched coordination.
During a reconnaissance mission in the Wyrmsmoke Mountains, Randalf crossed paths with Jen, a stealth operative of the Farstriders, after saving her from a fire trap laid by redspawn arsonists. Impressed by his flame manipulation and situational awareness, Jen invited Randalf to aid the Farstriders in rooting out the fire cults threatening the Vale’s southern reaches.
Randalf grew close to Edgar Sommerfield, the group’s battle tactician. The two developed combo tactics—Sommerfield would pin enemies in a crescent arc, allowing Randalf to launch his Fire spells with deadly efficiency. Though not an official member, Randalf regularly keeps in touch with the group.
