Personal history
What I Do Not Know:
My Dwarven Parents. Who they were, What they did, or even where they were from.
What I've Been Told:
My Ma - Daphnaie Dendrites - has told me this story of how I came to be raised by her:
When I was a wee babe, Ma was patrolling her patch of wood when she came across my parents' ransacked caravan. As she sorted through the wreckage, she found me, the only survivor, crying under a blanket. She took me and the surviving donkeys home and raised me along with her brother.
My Ma
Daphinaie Dendrites is a Druid of the Living Dell that was exiled along with the rest of her family from Highvale when her father, my grandfather, unsuccessfully tried to overthrow the King and take over. She joined the Living Dell, and has protected her patch of woods from poachers and lumberjacks for centuries.
Uncle Menalaus
Menalaus Dendrites is a Holy Liberator that follows Corellon Larethian. He is a master of the Blade and Words. He wields the Blade of Menalaus the Great, his ancestor, passed down from one Menalaus to the next. My Uncle is the tenth to carry the name. He taught me how to wield a Longsword, and the traditions of the Elves.
Early Life
Ma named me Falanathoris, which mean Dwarf of Heaven. As I grew, Uncle Menalaus and Ma raised me, between the two of them teaching me how to be a good person, and how to take care of myself. Finally, I reached a point where my Dwarven blood longed for community. I needed to know more than just two elves and the woodland creatures. So Uncle Menalaus told me of a shrine to Ehlonna, goddess of the woodlands, that was a month's ride from the forest. He and I built a wagon and hitched up two donkeys, and away we went.
Forestwood
As I rode through rain and shine, I came across a wounded wolf. He growled at me and the Donkeys, but I saw he had a limp. So slowly, but surely, I approached and removed a large thorn from his paw. He joined me on my journey, and I named him Forestwood.
The Tapestry
Whenever Forestwood and I would have to stay inside the wagon because of rain, I worked on a Tapestry of Ehlonna (see below). When I made it to the shrine, I was greeted by the exactly three members of said shrine. Less than enthusiastically.
The Shrine
First is the High Priest, Reverend Brother Ayjax. An Elf so old he has wrinkles, squinty eyes, and silver hair. He did not seem impressed with a Dwarf asking to join the Priesthood of Ehlonna.
Next is the Priestess, Sister Helen. She was also aged, but definitely wore it better than Reverend Brother Ayjax. She's his younger sister, and also held a disdain for my advances.
Last is the most beautiful creature - ahem - I mean a young half-elf seminarian by the name of Penelope. She was immediately interested in the why, not just the "he's a dwarf, so what would he want with trees?" She convinced Reverend Brother Ayjax and Sister Helen to give me the Benefit of the doubt.
When the Reverend Brother and Sister saw my Tapestry, they immediately accepted me and hung the tapestry prominently in the shrine.
The Mission
Pen and I quickly grew in friendship. She and I were in the same studies, as we were such a small group. Honestly, other than our differences in taste for Alcohol (She likes fine Wine, I like Fine Ale), we basically have everything in common. Although there are some places she fills in where I lack. For instance, she's funny, I'm not. Eventually, we graduated, and we were both sent on mission to find new people to convert to Ehlonna's church. We traveled together for a small time, then we split off, but we still keep in touch and meet up every once in a while.
The Business
To help fund my mission, I sell my cloth wares, such as tapestries, clothes, etc. I live and work out of my Wagon. I stay in a town for a week, and any orders I get, I finish within that week. But I will stay for more than just that week if I can't get the project done in time. Half price after one week.
Juliana
At my first town, I was robbed... Sorta. I caught the culprit pretty quickly. A young fiery-haired girl with a temper to match had nicked a dress on display. I caught up to her pretty quickly, and while she fought me, I figured something out. She was a homeless orphan. Her clothes and manner made that clear. I calmed her down, and she wound up telling me her story, all about how she was abandoned by her parents. She's actually really sweet once she gets to know you. So now I have an assistant.
Education
I was schooled at home until I went to Seminary. My uncle and the Priests at Ehlonna's shrine taught me most of my skills.
