Desàmpa is a female Tiefling woman in her early 20s who works as a barmaid and innkeeper at the Mellow Spider. She has lived a pretty uneventful life aside from moving out of her parents house at a young age to strike out on her own. She has always wanted some grander experience from life, to see the world and undertake great adventures but she has not yet been able to do so. She settled down as a barkeeper for a temporary job but has stayed there for several more years than she expected. She is bored with the job and itching to move on but is waiting for the right opportunity to begin her journey.

Her given name is Desámpa which is from one of the Craterborn languages meaning ‘one with sad destinies.’ Although the connotation is sad it is meant to signify strength in the face of life’s adversities. Desa’s mother chose this name for her with the high hopes of overcoming challenges to achieve something great.

Desàmpa does not know her family’s official last name. She remembers that they were often called Cooper as her father was a barrel maker but he always said that was not their last name. Although it has alluded Desámpa it does not come up much in her life as most do not care about the family name of a lowborn barmaid. She doesn’t really care either; she knows her family even though it has been a very long time since she has seen them.

Everyone calles her Desa (pronounced: dEH-sah). It is a convenient shortening of her long, given name. She often introduces herself first as Desa instead of her full name to save everyone some time. She does like her formal first name but she she knows it is too much work to walk people through its pronunciation. If she really has a good feeling or wants to spend time with someone she will introduce herself using her full name but otherwise won’t.
