Mentality

Personal history

Ilya Ilyich Valentinov was born to his mother, Natalia, and his father, who was also named Ilya, on a sacred day of Freya. As his parents were extremely religious, they believed him blessed and brought him to Freya's temple to be consecrated. He spent his early years nearby the temple, and once he turned twelve he basically began living there full-time.

He was initially resentful of having to work for a "Goddess that isn't for boys", but he warmed up to it by the time he turned eighteen.

At some point, he was given a large, heavy, metal-bound book that supposedly contained the "sacred texts" of Freya. The way he acquired it is unknown. He is likely the only one who has read the whole thing, and he has read it multiple times. He still reads it today as a form of meditation, reading calmly, with a straight face and no emotion. Anyone else who reads it, however, seems to become very disgusted and upset by it. It also doubles as a weapon!

Ilya is now a traveling Paladin of Freya, going around the lands following Freya's code as well as doing things such as blessings and officiating weddings.

As a Paladin of Freya, his code is simple: Procreate. He utilizes his looks and charm to fulfill his duties. Ilya has no qualms as to who he beds down with, man or woman, human or nonhuman. It is likely that he has countless children, but he hasn't met most of, if not all of them.

Education

Ilya was educated in the temple of Freya. He is considered fairly smart by most commoners.

Employment

He has been a Paladin of Freya his whole adult life, even if he was resentful of it the first couple years (sixteen-eighteen). Before that, he just helped out in the temple.

Accomplishments & Achievements

He is one of the few male clergy/devotees of Freya. He is proud of this fact. Also he probably seduced an angry orc or something, but that might've not happened.

When he was younger, he'd flirt with anyone. Including married men and women. Yikes.

Morality & Philosophy

The two key pillars of his moral code and philosophy are Procreation and Consent. These two things are very important to him. He also finds family important and believes that they should be treasured. He believes that children are one of the greatest gifts that can be bestowed upon someone. He sees beauty in everything.

CONSENT IS IMPORTANT. Doing anything that violates consent is a MASSIVE no-no for Ilya. This counts even in non-sexual circumstances. He might be flirty, he might be touchy, but he will respect your boundaries. He also won't allow himself to become an accessory to adultery (as in, he won't be a married person's fling).

Also, just breaking his paladin code in general is bad news. He also won't harm children.
