Taegen comes from a country far to the west, in an area of the world far less populated than the Southern Kuchills. Lands currently under the control of Elven Lords, the country of _____. Taegen, in particular, grew up in a large nomadic tribe that largely consisted of wood elves and orcs. Though offspring of these types were rare, they did happen on occasion, and were seen as a blessing to the tribe. The naturalism of the orcs and the closeness to the sources of magic and fae worlds of the elves made for naturally powerful druids, and were almost always expected to join the Verdant Circle, a druidic school.
The Verdant Circle was a powerful force, both magically and politically, in URKESH. Many grew to be advisors, healers, divinators, and alchemists of the ruling class of Urkesh, maintaining their connections to the Verdant Circle.
 
 
Hundred+ Years Ago:
Taegen learned quickly, and proved to be capable of forging a strong connection to Malora.
He also quickly grew discontent, disliking the structure and politics involved. It felt unnatural, and left him feeling empty and disconnected from Malora.
 
Hundred+ Years Ago
He still completed his training, began working as a healer and herbalist in a decent town. Tattoos were part of this, but only some tattoos.
Met someone, a half elf woman, also part of the Verdant Circle. Married. Couldn't bare children, but it wasn't an issue for either of them.
 
Ten Years Ago
The Verdant Circle went dark. Some members were dying suddenly and horrifically, some were becoming withered greedy husks that were twisting their Elven Lords and twisting everything around them.
Taegen discovered his wife (Rania) was part of this corruption, seemingly dealing with a dark entity, acting as an agent, eventually as an avatar to it as well.
Taegen left all of it, abandoning the Verdant Circle, his wife.
Dark entity creating the corruption, either murdering members outright, or poisoning their minds with promises of power and forbidden secrets.
The country was falling into disarray.
 
Ten Years Ago
Taegen returned to his tribe, hoping to convince them to either find a way to fight this, or move the tribe away to another land.
Tribe agreed that it was time for them to move on. After deliberation, they gathered up and moved. Slowly. They put money together and chartered a ship that took them to RACHAEL'S COUNTRY.
The tribe found a place to settle, in the southern areas, off of the coast. Taegen still felt he needed to look deeper into figuring out what happened with the Verdant Circle, and how to stop it from spreading it's corruption.
Stayed on with the tribe for a while as a healer and herbalist.
 
 
One Year Ago
Corrupted natural order/fae were attacking the tribe directly. Taegen was being plagued with nightmares. Taegen decided he needed a solution.
Discovered fae were being corrupted by Verdant Circle directly. Many bore the black ring.
Woke one morning to a fae High Court member, speaking of an ancient horror that is tied into Verdant Circle, operating out of Ewhas. Provided wooden ball, referring to it as a 'seed'. “Let this seed take hold where corruption lives, and it will take root. It will cleanse, and provide the tools you need.”
Spent time preparing for your trip, ensuring the village was protected. Meditating, etc. You learned that undeath was involved.
