Noble dragonborn pulling away from her birthed lifestyle to become powerful by her own right.

Lady Orshi's family, the Vyashlonvas, are Silver dragonborne, coming from the tundras to the north, Karmalune, where most of the dragonborne clans reside. High ranking families were usually Silver, Gold, and other precious metals, and all were very proud of their closeness to their draconic bloodlines. The more purist bloodlines were known for being inured with sorcerous powers, derived from their closeness to their dragon ancestry. They also had features such as wings and tails, sometimes talons.

In that regard, Orshi was always a blessed. She was quick to show signs of power, moving objects and unleashing easy prowess over ice, the chosen element of her draconic lineage. She made her family proud, being a skilled aristocrat, easily navigating her way through the courts.
Orshi was the youngest of her clutch, though. Succession of power through inheritance was unlikely, and she'd long since moved on. There were other ways to gather and exert power in these lands.
An opportunity was knocking.

Countess Vyashlonova, your mother, had requested a private audience with you.

A few of her personal scholars and advisors had been researching some recently recovered ancient texts, and come across some notes surrounding mentions of a book that contained details regarding the Dragon Gods, Bahamut and Tiamat, and how this book had been slated for destruction. It'd been stolen shortly before it could be destroyed, though, and smuggled out. What began as a curiosity, fueled by the Countess' own interest in their draconic history, quickly became a point of keen focus to the Countess herself.

She's asked you to retrieve these texts. The texts were eventually traced to the hoard of a dracolich with a penchant for old books, in the Southern Kuchils. Her ambassador in Ewhas had reported a buzz of interest in the area, as a copper dragonborn in Ewhas had returned from the ruins, unscathed, and not empty-handed. He'd been seen at the Light of Pelor, a temple in Ewhas. Where he was, though, was unknown. He hadn't been seen since leaving the temple, apparently sent to help escort a merchants daughter to town near Ewhas.

The Countess' best diviners began searching for this lone dragonborn, but were unsuccessful… until one of her most powerful Oracles was.
The rumor was, the Oracle had finally pierced the veil… upon doing so, their eyes went blood red, and they ripped out their own tongue with their bare hands, choking to death on the blood. The last thing he'd gurgled out was "Zarovich".
This was when you went from being curious to being truly interested. This was power. The Countess sent you with her blessing, requesting only secrecy. She knew what you knew. This could tip the scales in their favor.

You were on the next boat to Ewhas. Passage was paid for. One month of travel, over cold angry seas. Luckily, the cold was comfort.

The trip itself was not difficult, but it was quiet. Quiet quickly became lonely, as you were used to being surrounded by servants and the like, at the very least. One night, you were enjoying a quiet, lonely evening, strolling the deck when you came across an older half-orc you’d seen before. It appeared that he was watching the stars. You'd met half-orcs before, as they weren't unfamiliar to the tundra. Various nomadic orc tribes roamed the tundra, moving from place to place.
"Why do you watch the stars?"
The old half-orc began telling you about watching them when he 'talks' to his god, Malorax.' He began telling you about his clan to the far west, and why he was headed to Ewhas
You knew a practitioner of divine magics when you saw one, and knew you'd potentially need a diviner to help you locate your quarry. Friendship was quick, as conversation came easily. He was insightful, and interesting, and the trip went quickly with his company.


Four Months Ago:
When you came to Ewhas, you touched base with the Ambassador Voloshki, a fellow dragonborn, who introduced you around. It was a flurry of faces, soft and pink and hairy. You'd never had to be around so many humans, or dwarves, or elves, or halflings, or gnomes. They seemed a never-ending variety of shapes and sizes, surprising you despite having been around them before.

You spent some time learning, figuring out some of the intricacies of the courts of Ewhas, and continuing your own education in Divination. Ambassador Voloshki had an extensive library, and was an accomplished wizard of his own right, though limited in time.
Voloshki put out some feelers, hoping to get an idea on the location of the dragonborne, as well,.
 

Two Months ago:
Viscount Ling was among the first to meet you, and offered to house you during your visit. While clearly political courtship, she was an engaging conversationalist and you were happy to have the company. A lot of your time was still spent in study, as well. No sign of the dragonborne.


Three Weeks Ago:
You were eventually introduced to Baron Domnin. He insisted that he host a party! You were quick to accept, eager to network and gather the resources you'd need to begin looking for this dragonborn for which you didn't even have a NAME yet.
Ling pulled you aside, shortly after. She began to fill your head with rumors and concerns regarding the Baron, of possible coup, so near to the treaties. It was dizzying. The three dukes of the Southern Kuchils were going to begin drawing borders and establishing countries, and everything was tense.
Ling had a plan. You were going to infiltrate the party. Ling also insisted on having someone along that could help keep them safe if things went poorly. A military officer from the local garrison had offered to keep an eye on things. He only had the one eye, though… that's when you met the Red, Inferno of the Desert. Gruff, and deeply unfriendly, he seemed to be watching you uncomfortably closely.


Two Weeks Ago:
The Baron was ready one week later, while Ling began telling you about the various court members, who was involved with who, who were enemies… she knew everyone, and everything. You began to suspect she ran with spies, by this point, but it wasn't that unusual with royalty. You were pretty sure one of your siblings/clutchmates had similar sorts of contacts. Came with the territory.

Remembering your new acquaintance from the boat, you asked if he could join you. At worst, if the gathering proved too droll, he was a bit of escape, and at best, he was fairly charming. Ling agreed. Finding him was easy.

You all attended the party, and did your usual networking and the like. The night went quickly enough, and you were getting some promising leads on potentially help from the nearby Red Tower (a full on mage college). During the evening, the Red pulled you aside, a rare grin on his face. He said, "Heard through the grapevine, you're lookin' for a book. Is that what all this is about? Wondered why you'd come all this way, from your snow. Y'all rarely do without a good reason."
You attempted to persuade him otherwise, planning this visit to have the opportunity to create political ties with a new country, but he waved it off. "Your ambassador has awful loose lips for such a scaley face." He was practically laughing at this point. "Maybe we can help each other out! That's how it works with you noble folks, yeah?"
You turned away from him, but you were seething at this point. This commoner had NO place asking you for ANYTHING, and to attempt to blackmail you… you would destroy him. Utterly. Quickly. Quietly.

At this point, the baron invited you up for a congratulatory toast in his private chamber. Grabbing the Lieutenant and orc, you made your way up. You were not going to give this stupid fucking CAT a chance to stab you in the back before you had him turned into a rug.

One week and a half ago:
The three of you weren't seen again until about a week and a half ago, when you escaped.
