Personal history
Pock was born into the "Grimgut Clan," a small tribe of goblins living in the dark and twisted woods. As the smallest and weakest member of his tribe, he often faced scorn and derision. The other goblins saw him as a runt, relegated to the lowliest tasks such as foraging and scavenging. Despite this, Pock harbored dreams of becoming a warrior, secretly training with makeshift weapons.
One day, the Grimgut Clan's existence was upended when a group of adventurers stumbled upon their hidden village. Mistaking the goblins for a dangerous threat, the adventurers launched a swift and brutal assault. The goblins fought desperately, but they were no match for the well-equipped adventurers. Amidst the chaos, Pock, terrified and outmatched, did what he had always done to survive—he hid. He found a small crevice under a pile of rocks and squeezed himself in, hoping to avoid the conflict.
As the battle came to a bloody end, Pock remained hidden, hearing the last cries of his clan as they were defeated. When the noise subsided, he dared to peek out. The village was quiet, filled with the eerie stillness that follows violence. Just as he thought he might escape unnoticed, a massive hand reached into his hiding spot and pulled him out by the scruff of his neck. It was the party's barbarian, a towering figure with a broad grin.
The barbarian, amused by the small and frightened goblin, held Pock up for the others to see. "Can we keep him?" the barbarian asked, half-jokingly, as if Pock were a stray animal. The group considered the idea, with mixed reactions ranging from amusement to cautious curiosity. Eventually, they decided to spare Pock's life, intrigued by the idea of having a goblin companion, and possibly feeling a twinge of guilt for the destruction they had wrought.
Pock was initially terrified of his new captors, expecting harsh treatment or worse. However, the adventurers treated him with unexpected kindness. They gave him food, water, and even a small dagger for protection. Over time, Pock began to see them not as captors, but as his new tribe. The barbarian, who had found him, became particularly fond of Pock, often ruffling his hair and teaching him basic combat skills.
